Flying into Jackson Hole
Many travellers to Jackson Hole arrive by air. The internet has made finding inexpensive airfare much easier. Sites such as Travelocity and Expedia are good first choices for choosing dates of arrival and departure and finding a good price. In many instances, travellers can find round-trip airfare from many cities on the East Coast for under $400.
The Jackson Hole Airport has the distinction of being the only United States airport located withing the boundaries of a national park. It remains a small airport and lines can get long during the peak seasons of July and August. The airport is located about seven miles north of town. It is possible to rent a car at the airport, or in town, and larger hotels will offer a shuttle service.
Flights to Jackson Hole often pass through Salt Lake City, and there is a direct flight from Chicago. Most vacationers can expect one stop on their way to Jackson Hole.
